We are never too young or too old to make new plans, set goals and devise your own. That goes for parents, teens and children. As a matter of fact, fulfilled life is filled with goals, plans and achievements of those who - no matter how small or large
.Do you know where to go - new year, and with it, new possibilities. Of course, we do not need a new year so that the new resolution, but there is something about this news, which somehow gives us the motivation, so use it!
The 7 Habits series for people / youth / managers, etc., says Covey Habit 2 as "Begin with the end in mind". Just as we do not try to puzzle without looking at the picture first, we do not build a house without blueprints, and we do not drive off into the wild blue there without a map (or GPS), we don 't get very far without a plan for where we're going in our lives.
If we do not plan our destiny, someone else will. The challenge is to create a plan that has a certain result - even a little, and follow through. Keeping a promise to make it happen is a lot of battles. Choose goals that are realistic and within your power. Write them down and post them somewhere. Create personal goals and family goals. Parents and children can hold each other accountable. Focusing on family goals, try to avoid things that have addictions or personal problems such as smoking, drinking and overeating. Children trying to keep parents responsible in these areas can lead to big arguments. Save those types of goals as personal goals.
Family and community fitness goals are much less dangerous. With the "end in mind" to be healthier families, close knit family, and the achievement to see something through, for example, can be planned all along to walk a few nights a week, or prepare a family meal together. It is easy to administer and less likely to cause conflicts when it comes to accountability. Other simple family plans that enhance the cohesion of things such as missions to keep the house cleaner, better kept garden, create a family game night, limit TV, etc.
Regardless of the goals you set, do not forget to have a clear vision of exactly what the end result looks. Quoting from Alice in Wonderland, "Would you tell me please which way I should walk out of here?" "That depends a good deal on where you want to reach, " said the Cat. "I do not much care where - said Alice." Then it does not matter which way you walk. "said the Cat.
